The primary scientific function of Buoys ALPHA and BRAVO during the North Pacific Exploratory Deployment will be to gather meteorological and oceanographic data. The meteorological data requirements for this experiment are wind velocity, ambient air temperature and absolute moisture content at 5, 10 and 15 meters above sea level, as well as rainfall, radiation and barometric pressure. Oceanographic data requirements include surface roughness, current velocity, and seawater surface temperature.
