The Nurse Prescribers' Formulary for Community Practitioners (NPF) is designed for use by nurse prescribers such as District Nurses or Specialist Community Public Health Nurses (including Health Visitors) who have completed the nurse prescribers training scheme. The NPF provides an overview of some common conditions together with details of the medicines that may be prescribed by Community Practitioner Nurse Prescribers for patients receiving NHS treatment. In this latest edition, the section on laxatives has been revised and doses of macrogols for the treatment of faecal impaction have been updated.
