The aim of the conference PROLAMA T'95 on qLife Cycle Modelling for Innovative Products and Processesq was to present, discuss and summarize requirements and solutions for sustainable product development and manufacturing processes. The employment of information technology to support the development of new strategies will be the main focus. This volume contains the papers presented at the conference which provide opportunities to identify the state-of-the-art and address future requirements. A variety of branches with their specific products and manufacturing processes were the basis for intensive discussions. The relationships between aims for sustainability, costs, quality, and performance are of significant interest. Changes in organizational structures, outsourcing and globalization are important parameters for novel product development and manufacturing strategies. The link to standardization will be emphasised.
