The year was 1903, and America was eager for new ideas and inventions. Across the country, inventors worked steadily as two brothers were putting the finishing touches on their gas engine powered glider and another gentleman was testing his automobile in the suburbs of Detroit. In Springfield, Massachusetts, two men were producing a small robust motorcycle called the Indian. Meanwhile, in Wisconsin, Bill Harley and the Davidson brothers were determined to create a more dependable and powerful bike.
