The fundamental research question for the basis of this work is: Can the TRIZ method be expanded for the design team that places high value on environmentally benign designs? This can be broken down into more specific questions. Question One: How do you find products to expand the TRIZ database specifically so that it can be more useful for environmentally benign design changes? Question Two: How can function structures be used to catalog environmental innovations and aid in applying TRIZ principles?
