Two capsule designs that implement the biologically inspired fibrillar tissue adhesive on a tri-legged anchoring mechanism for enhancing the performance and capabilities of existing passive capsule endoscopes are presented. Mechanism modeling, prototype fabrication, and in vitro testing with porcine tissues were completed.
