Agricultural Science for the Caribbean is a well established and highly successful three year course for lower Secondary schools. The emphasis is on observation and practical activity, encouraging students to develop a hands-on attitude to agriculture. Students are encouraged to find out more about agriculture local to their homes so that they can relate and apply their learning to individual experiences and environments.23 1 Collect root systems of the following plants: pigeon peas, ochro, corn, tomato, sugar cane, carrot, sweet pepper, elephant grass, vander orchids, coffee, guava, wild pine, dasheen, ... Draw a diagram of this section of the root and label it.
